EDDIE'S REPORT Last Saturday, five members of the San Pedro Lions Club and one guest attended the open house at Lions Camp at Teresita Pines in the mountains of Wrightwood. This camp is owned and operated by the Lions Clubs of Southern California. Besides renting out the camp to different organizations, we, the Lions also use this camp at least twice out of the year for children with impaired hearing. It was a very nice day. I just wish that more of our members would have joined Wayne Bettis, George Keens, Ed & Chris Keyse, David Staley and his friend Susan. We enjoyed the tours of the camp, a great lunch and hearing about all the future plans from the trustees of the camp. If you would like more information about Camp Teresita Pines, ask Wayne Bettis, as he is one of the trustees. David's friend, Susan, visited the camp as a young child and later as a counselor when the camp was owned by an order of Catholic Nuns. There have been a lot of changes since Susan was last there, but most of the buildings are there, only in a lot better condition. Susan told us that she has great memories of the camp as child and always wanted to go back to see it and when asked by David if she would like to go with us on Saturday she had no idea it was the same camp. It was a great day, the weather was perfect and the fellowship was wonderful. The food wasn't too bad either. Yours in Lionism, P.D.G. Eddie Keyse Tri Club Meeting Checks will be presented to the Downhill Race Winners at the Tri Club meeting, this Thursday; September 23rd. District Governor Dick Selway will be visiting.
