Harbor City/Lomita and Wilmington Lions Clubs. 6:30

October 3rd - 5:00 pm to  9:00 pm - "Celebrity Waiter 
Fundraiser" to rehab Lions Mobile Screening Unit. El 
Pollo Inka Restaurant, 1425 W. Artesia Blvd., Gardena,

October 4th - 11:00 am  - LOVE Program - Annual

Board Meeting

We had a great board meeting last Thursday, September 
9th, at Lion Chris and Eddie Keyse's house with the 
entire board in attendance. A lot of business was 
conducted!  Thank you Chris and Eddie for your 
hospitality. Next month's board meeting is being moved 
to Wednesday, Oct 13th to avoid a schedule conflict with 
the LOVE Program installation and will be held at Lion 
Frank Colello's house. All Lions and guests are 
welcome!

More Downhill Race News

Checks will be presented to the Downhill Race Winners 
at the next Tri Club meeting on September 23rd. District 
Governor Dick Selway will be visiting. The Wilmington 
Lions Club will host the meeting.

Peace Poster Contest

The Lions International Peace Poster Contest is coming 
up fast. The contest is open to students who will be 11, 
12, or 13 years old on November 15, 2004. We must 
have the winning entry from the San Pedro Lions Club 
to the District Governor by November 15th. This years 
contest theme is "Give Peace a Chance". Lion David 
Staley is the Chairman of the Peace Poster Contest and 
could use your help.  Please call Lion David at (310)

We are going to try to involve all of the schools and 
youth groups in San Pedro that have eligible students. 
We also are hoping to get the participation of the local 
art community in the event. Let's make this our best 
Peace Poster Contest ever.

Mobile Screening

The Club will be helping "Justice for Murdered 
Children" with a Mobile Screening at Ports O'Call on 
October 30th. Lion Mike Wieztman is coordinating the 
screening and could use your help. Please call Lion Mike
