March 24th  - 6:30 pm - Tri Club meeting with the Harbor City/Lomita and Wilmington Lions Clubs. 6:30 pm Social.  7:00 pm dinner. Ante's Restaurant, 729 South Palos Verdes St., San Pedro, CA 90731.

April 7th  - 12:10 pm - Regular meeting. Ante's Restaurant, 729 South Palos Verdes St., San Pedro, CA 90731

Student Speaker Contest

After successfully completing the local club and Zone A levels of the Student Speaker contest, Deborah Ruiz will be representing the San Pedro Lions Club at the Southern Region Student Speaker Competition at the El Pollo Inka Restaurant, 1425 West Artesia Blvd., Gardena, CA. The event will be held on Tuesday, April 5th at 6:30 pm. San Pedro Lions Club members are urged to attend and show their support for Deborah.

City of Hope Lions Tribute Day

The annual City of Hope Lions Tribute Day will be held on Sunday, April 3rd. P.C.G. Eddie Keyse is organizing a group to carpool to the event. This is always a great event and your chance to find out how Lionism helps the research and treatment at the City of Hope. All club members are encouraged to attend. If you would like to carpool or would like further information, please call Lion Eddie at (310) 833-2444.

Bowl-A-Thon Fundraiser

The El Segundo Sunshine Lions Club is having a "Bowl-A-Thon" fundraiser to aid the South Asia Tsunami Victims and local community projects. The event will be held on Sunday, March 20th at the Torrance Bowl-O-Drome, 21915 South Western Avenue, Torrance, CA 90501. Check in is at 12 noon and the bowling starts at 1:00 pm.  A minimum of $50.00 in pledges or contributions per bowler is requested.

Baseball

The San Pedro Lions Club will be going to the game, at Angel Stadium in Anaheim on Friday evening, June 17th. We will see the Los Angeles Angels at Anaheim vs. Florida Marlins.  Tickets are $12. The Membership Committee

The Membership Committee has been hard at work!  Lion Mike Weitzman reported he, Lion Ann Jezin and Lion Mitch Harmatz have been gathering information from Lions International in regards to membership and membership retention and are preparing a wonderful program.

There will be a membership orientation and education meeting and dinner on May 5th at Ante's Restaurant. All aspects of Lionism will be discussed.

It is extremely important that all San Pedro Lions Club members attend this meeting. Please mark your Calendar now and reserve Thursday evening, May 5, 2005 for this event.
