February 18th - Flag Day. - Lion Wayne Bettis

February 24th  - 6:30 pm - Tri Club meeting with the 
Harbor City/Lomita and Wilmington Lions Clubs. 6:30 
pm Social. 15th District Councilwoman Janice Hahn 
will be the guest speaker.  7:00 pm dinner. Ante's 
Restaurant, 729 South Palos Verdes St., San Pedro, CA 
90731.

March 3rd - 12:10 pm - Regular meeting. Ante's

March 10th  - 7:00 pm - Board meeting. Location TBA.

Student Speaker Contest

The Student Speaker Contest will be held on February 
17th at our regular noon meeting at Ante's Restaurant, 
729 South Palos Verdes St., San Pedro, CA 90731. 
Please mark your calendar now and be sure to attend the 
meeting.

 Lion Vince Zabica is the Chairman of the Student 
Speaker Contest and has been working hard to make this 
year's contest a good one. 

Councilwoman Janice Hahn to speak 
at Tri Club Meeting

Be sure to attend the February 24th Tri Club meeting.  
15th District Councilwoman Janice Hahn will be our 
featured speaker. Invite your friends, relatives, business 
associates, and neighbors for an informative and fun 
dinner meeting.
 
There will be a 6:30 pm social followed by a 7:00 pm 
dinner. Ante's Restaurant, 729 South Palos Verdes St., 
San Pedro, CA 90731. For further information contact

Flag Day

Don't forget Lions Club Flag Day is Friday, 
February 18th.  If you want to participate, please be at 
Lion Wayne Bettis Office, 350 West 5th St., Suite 205, 
San Pedro, CA 90731 at 8:30 am.   We will be visiting 
the many elementary schools in San Pedro to hand out 
flags and give a short lesson in "Old Glory" to the 
kindergarten classes.  

This event is always a very 
fulfilling activity and is your chance to help instill a 
spirit of true patriotism and respect for our flag in some 
of San Pedro's youngest citizens.

Meetings

Lions Wayne Bettis, Frank Colello, Tom and Susan 
Dorsey, Gojko Spralja, David Staley, Mike Weitzman, 
and Vince Zabica attended the February 10th Board 
Meeting. Lion Wayne provided his office for the 
meeting and his wife Barbara baked some delicious 
treats. 

There was a lively discussion on the subject of 
improving meeting attendance and participation in Lion 
Club activities. Several great ideas were put forth 
including the possibility of having a short retreat. The 
subject will be discussed at the next Board Meeting on 
March 10th. Please plan on attending and sharing 
your ideas and input!
